Greek Lion Cuff Links
480 BC
13mm sliver coins are the focal point of these amazing cuff links. Each cuff link is handmade of solid white gold and each ancient coin is bezel set in 18k yellow gold. The bezels are balanced by 3 white diamonds in each corner and then it is all perfectly centered in a blackened frame for a dramatic statement. The coins were hand struck in 480 BC in what is present day Thrace, Greece. Each depicts the fore part of a lion. The lion in ancient times, as in present day, was a symbol of royalty, stateliness and, above all a symbol of bravery.
The detail in these cuff links is like nothing I have ever had the opportunity to work on. It was a fabulously inspiring project.
