About Melissa Braniff

My mother always said that it seemed I was born with an old soul. Maybe that explains my love for all things ancient some 40 years later. My curiosity started when I was a young girl with a love for Aphrodite, which developed into an interest in ancient Greek mythology, followed by a brief obsession with Queen Cleopatra and Helen of Troy. While this historical interest filled my mind jewelry was always part of my life. My mother and her mother helped foster my fascination with and appreciation for fine jewelry. These life-long pursuits naturally combined into what is now my creative passion.

My jewelry is a fusion of heavy metals, glistening stones and the wonderment of ancient coins. Each coin has its own personal history and will speak to you if it is meant to. Each individual design emerges and is refined by me until I feel like the design reflects the integrity of the coin. The design is then assembled by hand. Each piece is original and no two are exactly alike.
