Cross Coin Dangle Earrings II
Small bronze coins from the Byzantine Empire 379AD are set in oxidized silver and are surrounded by a bezel of white diamonds. The pendants hang from handmade hoops of oxidized silver, white diamonds and a 22k yellow gold flower embellishment. 1.46 total carat weight. The dangle pendants are approximately the size of a US dime.
The coins depict primitive crosses that were handstruck during the reign of the emperor Theodosius. He declared Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. He never became a Christian himself, but there is a saint named after him.
