Ancient Silver Caduceus Coin Necklace
This ancient silver coin is set in 18k yellow gold, has a single white diamond, 0.06ct, bail and hangs from a 30” oxidized sterling silver chain. The coin depicts a winged caduceus. The caduceus, the traditional symbol of Hermes, appeared on the chevrons of US army hospital stewards as early as 1856. In 1912 it was replaced by the rod of Asclepius. The caduceus is a symbol of peace.
